Over the years, I have heard a lot about the amazing cherry blossoms in Japan. A friend recently sent this photograph from the Meguro River in the Nakameguro area of Tokyo, which is a five minute walk from our office in Japan. During the past couple of weeks, I'm told by I-san it is popular to hold 'Ohanami' (=Flower-viewing) parties underneath these trees when they are in bloom.
If you are planning a trip to Tokyo at some point in the future, try to time it with this festival. I certainly wish I had!
