The weather in the UK over the Easter holiday was quite spectacular. Long sunny days for the entire time. We spent Friday and Saturday in Southwold and Walbleswick, Suffolk, on the East coast. They are very pretty coastal towns that have retained their Victorian (and earlier) architecture and feel, making them glorious places to visit, unwind on the beach and take in a cheeky cream tea or two.

H had a great time on the beach and in the sea, as you can see from this short video. He loves the cold sea, but it's not so much fun for us once he gets back in the car and the heater goes on!
We popped into Alderburgh on the way home for a picnic on the beach. This is famous for Opera and classic music because Benjamim Britten lived nearby. There are a few big festivals here every year in the Snape Maltings - must be lovely to take in a performance there.
Even though the weather was so wonderful, we prefer Norfolk and Suffolk in the winter months. It's nice and quiet and the beach walks can be rather "bracing" as the wind whistles in from the North Sea from the Arctic. After a wind-blown day, there's nothing nicer than an afternoon nap in a small cottage with a wood burning stove after lashings of tea and cake!
