London Science Museum

It took an American friend to remind me of the Science Museum as a good option to keep B amused during half-term. What a great day out it was. Situated right outside South Kensington tube, the museum is free, huge and contains an amazing variety of exhibits. From model boats and engines to space craft and computers, it was a wonderful day out for us both.

Of special mention is "the Rocket", the world's first steam train engine by Stevenson. I had never even considered that it still existed -- but there it was, right in the center of the first floor. It's worth the trip just to get up close to this famous piece of history.
